When the Server is out of sync
Prerequisites to solving issue / things to check for:
- Client PCs are a few minutes off their time
- Server is also the same amount of time off
Steps to solving issue: In an administrative terminal on the server:
- w32tm /config /manualpeerlist:"time.nist.gov" /syncfromflags:manual /update
- w32tm /config /reliable:yes
- net stop w32time
- net start w32time
- w32tm /resync
After a bit, the clock should sync back up to the correct time. I did notice that on a server that was a few minutes off, it kind of ran forward until it finally caught up after about 30 seconds.
